Australia is confirmed as host of the men’s 2027 and women’s 2029 Rugby World Cups and it is estimated that Australia hosting both World Cups will inject $1.8 billion into the local economy.  With international events returning to pre-COVID levels is your holiday home guest-ready?

This past week saw the Australian International Movie Convention take more registrations than was initially anticipated. Attendees were fighting for furnished accommodation options with Afterpay Australian Fashion Week participants and spectators.

According to the Australian Trade and Investment Commission, domestic nightly stays are set to increase in 2022-2023 at 20% with international total spend forecast to grow 59% from $148.7 billion to $236.5 billion between 2018–19 and 2028–29.  Over this ten-year period, international tourism spend will more than double to $94.9 billion in 2028–29.

This is nine percentage points higher than its 31% share in 2018–19. International tourism’s strong growth is driven by a forecast 56.4% increase in annual visitation from 9.4 million visitors to 14.6 million between 2018–19 and 2028–29.
